What is Il Cartavolante?

Il Cartavolante is an illustrated publication dedicated to the great classics of literature. Its uniqueness lies in its format: a large sheet (50x70 cm) that, as it gradually unfolds, transports the reader into the emotions and charm of a literary masterpiece. The pages of Il Cartavolante strike a perfect balance between text, lettering, and illustration—a mix of classic and contemporary styles. With its paper wings, Il Cartavolante aims to present the classics in a fresh and original way, appealing both to die-hard fans of a book and to those curious newcomers ready to be captivated by a story they haven’t yet read. The reverse side of each Cartavolante features a large illustration that can be hung or framed like a poster.
